Henan crane manufacturer shares some precautions when using cables for bridge cranes
1. In order to make the accessories of the bridge crane safer and more reliable, when using a suspended cable car (or cable guide car), it is necessary to prevent the cable from being worn and excessively bent during movement. For cables with an outer diameter of no more than 8mm, the curvature diameter of the cable suspension bending plate should be at least 6.3 times the outer diameter of the cable; For cables with an outer diameter greater than 8mm, it should be at least 8 times the outer diameter; For cables with an outer diameter greater than 12.5mm, it should be at least 10 times the outer diameter; For flat cables, the thickness of the cable is equivalent to the diameter of a round cable.

When arranging cables, it is necessary to ensure that the lengths of each cable are equal, the pressure plates are firmly pressed, and the outer diameters of cables on the same layer are as close as possible. It is necessary to avoid excessive stress on one or a few cables. A traction steel wire rope should be installed between the suspended cable trolleys. During operation, when the distance between adjacent suspended cable trolleys is such that the angle between the suspended cables is close to 120 °, the traction steel wire rope should be completely straightened and stressed.

2. When using cable reels for power supply, precautions should be taken to prevent the cables from being worn during movement. For cables with an outer diameter not exceeding 21.5mm, the bottom diameter of the cable reel should be at least 10 times the outer diameter of the cable; For cables with an outer diameter greater than 21.5mm, the bottom diameter of the cable reel should be at least 12.5 times the outer diameter of the cable.

The cable reel should be able to automatically wind the cable, and the driving torque of the cable reel should not be less than the maximum winding torque required for winding the cable. During the cable laying process, the traction force acting on the cable conductor should be minimized as much as possible. For cables without reinforced cores, the maximum allowable tensile force acting on the copper wire section is 20N/mm2. For cables that require high winding speed or heavy self weight of bridge crane accessories, reinforced steel wire ropes that can withstand the required traction force should be added as cores.
